IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE GET CREATIVE FESTIVAL, THE WILLIAMSON ART GALLERY AND MUSEUM WILL BE HOLDING A CULTURE TANK EVENT SHOWCASING TASTER SESSIONS FOR PEOPLE TO JOIN IN AND HAVE A GO.

We will be showcasing the creative learning available to the public in Wirral, from independent practitioners and workshop leaders who will be on hand to demonstrate their creative activities. You can join in with the  free table-top taster experiences and demonstrations with a view to signing up for class (which would incur a fee) at the Williamson or at the artist’s own studio or even invite the artist to your school or place of work. The event is geared for adults but supervised children welcome.

The Get Creative Festival is all about making people feel inspired, and our intention is that visitors will want to explore new interests through classes or courses.  The Williamson is always keen to be a base for creative courses and has the capacity to be a host for independent workshops if people are interested in signing up.  We have hosted a range of creative activities from cyanotype and embroidery to enamelling and up-cycling, ranging in cost per person from £2 to £65.  There will also be workshop leaders who may be interested in delivering workshops for schools and the twilight timing of the event is to accommodate any teachers who want to pop in on their way home from work. Please register online for the event.

NB: FOR PRACTITIONERS
Culture Tank will run from 3pm – 8pm on Friday 23rd March.  If you are interested in getting involved as a professional artist or craftsperson, please contact friends@williamsonartgallery.org immediately and come to a meeting on the 1st of March at 1.30pm, stating what activity you could offer, how the public could experience it on the day and how much table space you would expect to need and complete a risk assessment form.

Please also inform us of any additional requirements you would have, such as wet space.  The intention of Get Creative is that events should be free at the point of delivery or cost recovery. So if you need to make a small charge to the public for materials to demonstrate/ experience your event, please make this clear.

Please be considerate of our neighbours when parking (our car park can get filled quickly), alternatively carpool with friends, use public transport or walk if you are able.
