SASS: A CHAINED MELODY

Wednesday 1st May

By Olayemi Z. Ade
7:30pm
Part of Up Next 2024 – a two-week festival celebrating Merseyside artists

Step into the sequinned world of Buki, a third of Sass – a Coventry-born RnB girl group on the brink of breakup.

This theatre piece is an experimental one-person play, performed and created by the writer.

With body glitter, a tight weave and a dream, Buki is exploring queerness as a Black and North African person, the trials of friendship and the grip of coercive control.

Brace yourself for an electrifying performance that will leave you laughing and crying, but also will hopefully provoke conversations on what it means to be a person caught between religion, family and identity.

This is a work in development sharing

A Homotopia supported Queercore Artist.
