S’cube Contemporary Art presents:
On Sunday 21st April from 12-4pm Richard Meaghan will be opening his studio to guests to come and learn about contemporary painting. What is it like to be a contemporary painter living today? Come paint from your own personal world and create your own unique masterpiece.
We will start with a Powerpoint presentation on Contemporary painting and look at some of the important artists working in the late 19th century and early 20th century that had a major influence on how we see things as artists today.
Then after some tea and cake we will move into the studio and begin our Contemporary painting experience. Learn how using your own personal experiences, feelings, emotions, politics, interests etc can be the starting point of a journey on canvas. Experimenting with oil paint and using a variety of tools, the work can develop into a painting that has layers and veils; a painting that is inside your imagination where anything can happen.
A unique experience resulting in a unique painting.
Even if you have never picked up a brush in your life, it’ll be fun.
All materials are provided, so you don’t need to go to the art shop and spend a fortune.
Richard Meaghan is a contemporary painter who has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has won prizes for his work and his paintings are in many public and private collections.
Richard is also classically trained in the techniques and processes of Old Master painters.
