Programme
This introduction to Printmaking course is designed for complete beginners or those with some previous experience. Your tutor will guide you through examples and demonstrations to create your designs and to transfer these into lino cuts for printing.
Day One:Â With your sketched out design you will then begin the process of printing an edition,exploring a variety of papers and different colours of inks to create a one colour linocut design.
Day Two:Â Following an example demonstration, you will work on a design for a ‘Reduction’ method linocut using several coloured inks to add dimension and effect to your design .
Day Three:Â Completion of ‘Reduction’ print, cutting, registering and printing possibly two or more colours to create an edition of prints.
Tutor:Â Melanie Sullivan
Melanie Sullivan is an artist and a tutor living and working in Liverpool since 1989. She has a Fine Art Printmaking degree. Her subjects are based on the natural world and inspired from her own photos and observations.

Cancellations / Refunds
Once you have made your course booking you are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.
Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.
If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
