Free creative workshop with Sefton New Beginnings and Sefton Youth Voice exploring black and white still life photography.

Taking inspiration from the recent ARTIST ROOMS: Robert Mapplethorpe exhibition here at The Atkinson, the group have been working with photography organisation Open Eye Gallery, to develop their own photographic skills based on the styles and techniques of this late photographer.

The group showed a particular interest in the clever use of composition, shadow and light which regularly features within Mapplethorpe’s still life series.

Join us for a free workshop where you can create your own photographic still life series to take home on the day. This workshop is family friendly and free to drop in and get involved.

Selfhood is a  young people led photography programme delivered by New Beginnings LGBTQ+ Sefton group and Cultural partners Open Eye Gallery & The Atkinson. Inspired by ARTIST ROOMS: Robert Mapplethorpe
