Venue: The Arts Centre
Times: 19:30 - 21:00
Award-winning dance duo Thick & Tight (Daniel Hay-Gordon and Eleanor Perry) preview an evening of three new works for LEAP Festival.
Working with designer/performer Tim Spooner, the evening includes a curtain-raiser created in collaboration with students from Edge Hill University, a solo performance from Kathak dancer Vidya Patel (BBC Young Dancer of the Year 2015 finalist) and a brand new show from Thick & Tight.
Expect to be enthralled, as infamous historical figures Winston Churchill, Marcel Proust, Derek Jarman and Barbara Cartland are brought to life; (don’t know them? You soon will!). Thick & Tight are concerned with furthering queer culture in dance, siting somewhere between high art and populism. This entertaining and offbeat programme delves into political conversations around feminism, immigration policies, the loss of nature and the HIV crisis.
