Being Fungal (UK Fungus Day)

Saturday 7th October | 10.30am – 5pm | Stanley Bank Wood, St Helens

Free, booking required

Join artist and fungus enthusiast Jane Lawson for a day learning about and celebrating all things fungi! You will be brought into close contact with fungi in a variety of ways: through sight, touch, smell and taste.

On UK Fungus Day, the annual celebration of our fungal world, we invite you to delve deeper and learn more about the fungi found in our local green spaces. Jane will share her mycelial-informed work, at one of the North West Fungus Groups’ most popular mushroom spots.

Weather permitting, we’ll spend the day outside interacting with nature. We encourage you to dress for all weathers, but if it gets too wet, we’ll head inside the Visitor Centre.

Schedule:

Arrival and introductions

Please make sure that you arrive on time, with appropriate clothing and footwear (we’ll remind you a couple of days before the event).
