“COLOUR IN MOTION” by Lyndsay Atkinson, Glass Artist
For this exhibition my work aims to capture various ways we experience the movement of colour in the skies and water around us.
I have used glass enamel powders fused between layers of glass to create the vibrancy and depth of colour experienced in the energy of the sun and moon.
In other pieces I have painted and fused metallic lustres onto the surface of glass to emulate the movement in the flow and iridescence of water.
Changes in colour and depth as light is refracted through glass are further explored through bubbles formed by trapped air under the surface during fusing and though surface decoration with sandblasting.
I am a glass artist based in Handbridge, Chester. All my work is handmade in my own small studio. I also work part-time as a physiotherapist in the NHS
