S’cube Contemporary Art presents:
On Wednesday 20th March from 7-9pm Richard Meaghan will be opening his studio to guests to come and learn how to draw from a nude model. Learn the technical side of measuring and composition and the subtleties of shading. We’ll also be warming up looking at movement and flow with different poses. During this session there is the opportunity to be taught or you can have the freedom to express yourself and experiment at your own pace with the materials in whatever feels comfortable for you.
So come along and unlock the secrets of drawing the human figure in this dynamic class.
All abilities welcome. Even if you haven’t picked up a pencil in forever, I will show you step by step processes, with demonstration as well as individual support and feedback throughout the session.
The £15 cost is for a single session but I will be teaching an ongoing monthly life class where there is the opportunity to learn not only drawing techniques but painting techniques in oils from the model too.
Should you wish, there is the possibility over multiple sessions to be able to expand your knowledge of techniques and processes in both figurative painting and drawing as well as learning the history of figurative art and how contemporary figurative painting has adapted along the way.
All materials are provided, so you don’t need to go to the art shop and spend a fortune.
Tea, coffee, water, biscuits will be provided.
Richard Meaghan is a contemporary painter who has exhibited nationally and internationally. He has won prizes for his work and his paintings are in many public and private collections.
Richard is also classically trained in the techniques and processes of Old Master painters.
