SixBySix Social: Liverpool Portraits 1983 by John McDonald

Join us at Ropes & Twines for a celebratiuon of our current exhibition which showcases the work of Merseyside-based photographer John McDonald.
In the 1980’s Liverpool was a city in ‘managed decline’, with a local left wing council in fierce opposition to the national right wing government. Aside from media clichés, these perceptive portraits provide a quiet moment to contemplate the various lives of ordinary people at the time.
This project is one of twelve related portfolios made in Liverpool by John McDonald over the last forty years. Come and hear John talk about the work, which is already on show at Ropes & Twines.
Please note that due to capacity issues at the venue, we are limiting the event to 35 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no walk-ups on the night, so booking is essential for the event and tickets are selling fast. Thank you for your understanding.
