SixBySix: Liverpool Portraits 1983 by John McDonald
until mid-September
Ropes & Twines / SixBySix showcase the work of Merseyside-based photographer John McDonald.
In the 1980’s Liverpool was a city in ‘managed decline’, with a local left wing council in fierce opposition to the national right wing government. Aside from media clichés, these perceptive portraits provide a quiet moment to contemplate the various lives of ordinary people at the time.
This project is one of twelve related portfolios made in Liverpool by John McDonald over the last forty years. Come and hear John talk about the work, which is already on show at Ropes & Twines.
5 September, SixBySix Social (talk and event with SixbySix and John McDonald).
Thursday 5th September, Ropes & Twines, Liverpool, 7-10pm (talk starts at 7.30pm)
Doors open at 7pm, and the talk will begin at 7.30pm.
