SUMMARY:: Ropes & Twines: SixBySix: Liverpool Portraits 1983 by John McDona
 ld
DESCRIPTION:SixBySix: Liverpool Portraits 1983 by John McDonald\nuntil mid-
September\n\nRopes &amp\; Twines / SixBySix showcase the work of Merseysid
e-based photographer John McDonald.\n\nIn the 1980’s Liverpool was a cit
y in ‘managed decline’\, with a local left wing council in fierce oppo
sition to the national right wing government. Aside from media clichés\,
these perceptive portraits provide a quiet moment to contemplate the vario
us lives of ordinary people at the time.\n\nThis project is one of twelve
related portfolios made in Liverpool by John McDonald over the last forty
years. Come and hear John talk about the work\, which is already on show a
t Ropes &amp\; Twines.\n\n5 September\, SixBySix Social (talk and event wi
 th SixbySix and John McDonald).\n\nThursday 5th September\, Ropes &amp\; T
 wines\, Liverpool\, 7-10pm (talk starts at 7.30pm)\n\nDoors open at 7pm\,
and the talk will begin at 7.30pm.\n\nTickets details: https://www.eventb
 rite.co.uk/e/sixbysix-social-with-john-mcdonald-tickets-992953770457?aff=o
ddtdtcreator\n\nAs always\, the SixBySix Social will be a convivial gather
ing\, with a free drink included as part of the modest admission fee. Plea
se come along and support John for what should be a fascinating event.\n\n
Please note that due to capacity issues at the venue\, we are limiting the
event to 35 attendees on a first-come\, first-served basis. There will be
no walk-ups on the night\, so booking is essential for the event and tick
ets are selling fast. Thank you for your understanding. Tickets are sellin
g fast\, so book on to avoid disappointment.\n\nThank you for your interes
t and we hope to see you on the 5th.\n\nSixBySix
