Platform Studios Open day 2017
Platform Studios in St Helens are having an open studios event on Saturday 22nd April. Drop in anytime between 10am-4pm for a look around the artists studios, to buy original artworks and to talk to the artists.  Claire Weetman, also on display at Bluecoat’s Public View, will be creating a labyrinthine installation within her studio, showing her 2016 film maquette for a maze of displacement along with a collection of recent prints and drawings.
Throughout the day there will be a range of activities for you to participate in :
11.00am: Paul Reynolds will demonstrate how he uses epoxy-resins with paint to create glossy, colour-filled canvases.
1.00pm: Matty Hodges will share how he uses mod-roc plaster bandages in the creation of his sculptural artworks.
2.00pm: Bring your camera or phone to create beautiful still life artworks in Angela Wilkinson’s Photography studio where you can combine fine art, objects and digital technology.
Throughout the day: Find out about the artists that influence Jacqui Priestley as she introduces the work of The New York School through images, video and discussion. She will focus on the white-on-white paintings of Robert Ryman and include a demonstration of his optical violet technique.
