Game Over: A Re-Evaluation of Physical Social Gaming Spaces
Upon arrival at the event you will need to sign a consent form. This form will then be held for the duration of the study (till September 2026). You can view the Consent Form and Participant Information Sheet in the links below. Upon requesting a ticket via this Eventbrite it is assumed you have viewed the forms and are prepared to sign when you arrive at the event.
This is a ticket for a research event in Pixel Bar Liverpool on Monday 4th August between 6pm and 9pm. Before you decide whether to participate, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully and feel free to ask us if you would like more information or if there is anything that you do not understand. Please also feel free to discuss this with your friends and relatives if you wish. We would like to stress that you do not have to accept this invitation and should only agree to take part if you want to.
This event is strictly limited to 40 participants and tickets are issued on a first come, first serve basis.
By agreeing to participate in the event you will be entitled to one free soft drink whilst in attendance. All we ask is that you play videogames! Dr Christopher McMahon and Qianwei Jiang will observe the event and you are able to comment on your thoughts and feelings as you play. Commenting is entirely voluntary and none of your personal information will be recorded when you comment. Your comments will be recorded by hand by the researchers and all identifying information will be omitted. More information is available in the participant consent form. Thank you for reading this.
