DIESEL & DUST @ DIGITAL WINDOW GALLERY
18 JANUARY – 31 MARCH 2024
Diesel & Dust is a documentary project that explores the inland waterways of the UK. The project seeks to understand the appeal and impact of the canal network on the people who live alongside or on it. It can provide an escape from the rigid structures of modern society, offering a more transient way of life that allows people to slow down time and become self-sufficient. The landscape, the traditions, the culture, the boats and the people who operated them. This all contributes to the sense of place and living history that connects us all.
He was selected as a finalist for the Magnum Photo/Ideastap Photography competition in 2013 for his project ‘Maximum Stay’, a documentary project about motorway service stations in the UK, and his project ‘LACE’, about his home city of Nottingham, has been exhibited at the Truman Brewery, London and at the Scalarama Festival.
