New Faces, New Focus: Stories We Share

‘New Faces, New Focus: Stories We Share’ is a new exhibition coming to Kirkby Gallery from @openeyegallery

Exploring themes of journeys, identity and belonging, the exhibition brings together a mix of new creative work, photography, video installation, museum collections, and archival materials to celebrate stories from communities across the Liverpool City Region, Armagh and Aberdeenshire.

In collaboration with socially engaged artists, local people have reflected on migration, heritage and identity. Using photography, they have played with their perceptions of themselves, friends, family and how to create new connections through storytelling.

In New Faces, New Focus, Anoosh Ariamehr has engaged with people in Knowsley, who share memories of the area and reflect on how it has changed. Visits to Open Eye Gallery’s archive and Prescot Museum’s collections have sparked an exploration of life journeys through personal archives; from community work, caring professions, creative pursuits, and local industries.

The exhibition will be open 14th September – 18th December 2026
