Earth Day: Repurposing Clothes
This Earth Day we want to highlight the issue that are effecting our beautiful planet, in particualr, fast fashion and our throw away culture. Did you know that fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world, second only to oil. So lets try to make a small change and start by repurposing clothes that have been hiding in your wardrobe for years or that you would usually throw away after a few uses.
Here at Make we value the importance of upcyclying, reusing and repurposing, because once is never enough.
The day will consist of three back to back workshops ran by Jean from Penny Lane Fabrics, starting from 12pm to 4pm, you can attend as many or as little workshops as you like. The workshops will be:
– Altering and Mending
– Adding Pockets
For each workshop you can bring your own materials but some will be provided, sewing machines and equipment also provided.
The bar will be open on the day, serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.
