International Mersey River Festival
The International Mersey River Festival is a celebration of our glorious waterfront in a FREE three day extravaganza of family fun, amazing music and entertainment along our iconic river.
At this year’s event, we’re really making waves with an incredible musical line up gracing three stages along the ‘front, a host of creative workshops and entertainment for the whole family.
Discover Liverpool’s glorious history, incredible present and dazzling future with an interactive treasure hunt around the UNESCO heritage site, take part in activities or simply relax with a stroll along the river and take it all in.
On the Water: Tall ships, Northern Boat Show, Flyboarding, Canoe Polo, Wakeboarding, Watersports.
Shore Side Fun: Eldonian Village Canal Festival, Pavement Art, Model Boat Show, Liverpool Signing Choir, Street Theatre, Drumming, Arts Workshops, Family zones, Events at Open Eye Gallery and Liverpool Museum.

Friday:
From 5pm, BBC Introducing will be showcasing the best emerging and established bands, including Natalie McCool, The Sundowners, Cavalry, Tea Street Band, Louis Berry and Clean Cut Kid.
The headliner of this incredible night is BBC 6Music DJ and Fun Lovin Criminals frontman, Huey Morgan, who’ll have you dancing the night away!
Short fireworks display at the end of the night.
Saturday:
From 1.00pm, we have a stellar line up of tunes to get you on your feet. Liverpool International Music Festival Academy 2015 graduates will be kicking off the proceedings and showing off exactly why they were the cream of last year’s crop with Xam Volo, Jalen N’Gonda, Amique, Hicari and Harlem taking a main stage slot on Saturday.
Then 90s star, Shola Ama, is set to serenade you with her silky voice before Gwen Dickey’s Rose Royce belts out the party classics. You won’t be able to stop your feet from moving and hands from the air as legendary Soul II Soul take to the stage and set the Saturday on fire!
Over on the Ship Stage, on board Tall Ship Kaskelot, we celebrate our twinning with the Dublin River Festival with an Irish theme featuring a host of musical performances.
Sunday:
From 1.00pm, we’ve got more incredible local talent taking to the stage as we welcome The Ambition and Amique to the stage.
Mercury Award nominee, Terri Walker will be up next bringing her raw musical style that blends hip-hop and a bit of rock with soul to the main stage before we swing into classic lounge tunes from the Wack Pack that will have you swaying and swooning throughout their incredible set.
Liverpool’s very own The Real Thing are up next bringing four decades of smooth soul performances to the Pier Head before our world famous headliner, Billy Ocean, brings the party to the stage at 6.30pm.
