
The little BIG Art Club at Kirkby Gallery
New 10-week course on Saturdays, 10.30am-12.30pm
16 September – 2 December 2023
The little BIG Art club is a fabulous opportunity for young people aged 7-14. This Autumn, the course will revolve around “Becoming artists and designers”, providing the group with the context, knowledge and skills to interpret and respond to different creative forms from different historical periods and cultures.
They will explore the work of artists, craftspeople, designers, architects, digital, photographic and graphic media artists, including: Kirkbyography’s John Wakefield, Tom Wood “Photie Man”, Joseph Cornell, Gillian Ayres, Peter Blake, Damian Hirst, Michael Brennand Wood, Edith Meusnier and exhibitors at Kirkby Gallery’s Crafted, which the group will have a special preview of.

*This will followed by a 2 week break, whilst we change exhibitions*
5: 28th October (the gallery will be closed to the public but this will be the first opportunity for the LBAC group to see the Crafted exhibition)

10: 2nd December
If your child has not attended the little BIG Art Club before, you can book the first session on 16 September as a taster. If they decide that the course is not for them, you will not be charged for that session. If they love it, and they want to come back (which is what usually happens), you then pay the £75 fee for all 10 sessions on 23 September.
