Knowsley Urban Sketchers
Thursday 27 April & Thursday 11 May
We are thrilled to announce the final Knowsley Urban Sketchers workshops from Friends of Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
These FREE workshops have lots of added value, with extra activities to enjoy. As ever, the sessions start at 10am with an end time around 3.30pm (approximately)
Thursday 27 April – Kirkby Gallery and Mystery Location with artists Julia Midgley and Gill Cowley
This workshop, which starts and ends at Kirkby Gallery offers a few special extras. There will be exclusive sights to sketch at a second mystery location 10 minutes walk away. Back at Kirkby Gallery after lunch, between 2-3pm, you will be able to attend and sketch / document a gallery talk featuring photographer John Davies who will be talking about his work and professional practice.
Thursday 11 May – Kirkby Train Station to Liverpool Central Station (and back) with artists Paul Gatenby & Tony O’Connell
Starting at Kirkby Train Station, this workshop offers the opportunity to sketch at the station itself before boarding the train to Liverpool. On the day, the artists will agree with participants which stops to disembark and alight using the times of the next trains to determine the duration of the session at each point. After stopping to have lunch in Liverpool, you will then sketch your way back to Kirkby Train Station. A free Day Saver train ticket will be provided (unless the participant has their own rail pass).
Please note, all participants must bring their own sketching materials, drinks and packed lunch (or money to buy lunch). As always, please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the location and weather.
If you are running late on the day or unable to attend, please call Tina on 07867 641919.
