Nina Edge, The Hundred Year Harvest
exhibition at Squash Food hub until October 28th
Rooted in Liverpool 8 since 2007, Squash is a creative food enterprise which brings culture and community together in ways previously unimaginable, from mass cook ups to full blown seed and food gardens, a community café, an ingredients-based shop, a four-season arts festival (Food for Real) and a 100 year street plan.
Squash work with a steady flow of energetic people who share their interest in nourishment of every kind. They formed a working relationship with artist Nina Edge who has used large scale drawings to change spaces, attract attention and raise forward planning issues for Squash’s members, participants, local residents and audiences.
For the Independent Biennial Nina Edge and Squash will create a large scale drawing examining ‘A Hundred Year Harvest’ exploring food and time. The work will be produced and shown at Squash and wider Liverpool 8 venues and may be toured to other similar groups over time.
