ROOT-ED X HOMOTOPIA
A ZINE SHOWCASING QTIPOC ARTISTS
ROOT-ed (Revolution of our time) is a self-published zine and social platform, that promotes, supports and inspires creative people of colour in the North West.
Founded by artists Amber Akaunu and Fauziya Johnson during their final year at university studying Fine Art. The two saw a lack of representation in university, media, galleries and museums and felt the need to create this platform to represent the underrepresented.
As part of our QueerCore artist development programme, Homotopia has worked with ROOT-ed all year, providing support and advice. We have commissioned a new Zine to coincide with this year’s Homotopia Festival.
The October edition of the Zine showcases QTIPoC artists and features:
- Lubaina Himid
- Felix Mufti-Wright
- Franklin Dawson
- Eliss Eyo-Thompson
- Omar Javed
Buy the Zine online via the ROOT-ed website or at:
- Magma Books, Oldham Street, Manchester
- The Bluecoat, School Lane, Liverpool
- FACT, Wood Street, Liverpool
- News from Nowhere, Bold Street, Liverpool
FREE: We have a limited stash of Zines to gift to Homotopia audience members. To claim yours (before they run out!) email firstname.lastname@example.org and provide your full name and postal address.
