Liverpool Art Prize-winner Tabitha Jussa presents Agency of Women, a collection of black and white and hand coloured portraits inspired by renowned Liverpool photographers E. Chambré and Margaret Hardman, the female workforce they employed and the women who had their portraits taken at their home and studio on Rodney Street, now cared for by the National Trust.
You can see the exhibition as part of a guided tour of the Hardmans’ House on Fridays and Saturdays until 6 November. Book your tickets via the National Trust Hardmans’ House website. Booking is free for National Trust members.
The exhibition features a series of portraits taken by Tabitha of women at the heart of Liverpool’s cultural scene today, who all share many of Margaret Hardman’s qualities and talents. She has been inspired by the style and photographic techniques used by the Hardmans’ studio to create their glamorous portraits of women in the mid-20th century.
