Following this, you will learn more about different types of wood and how to recognise wood grain direction as well as how to select and choose the material you’d like to develop your carving on. Then you will plan and mark out your own piece of work, practice using carving techniques to produce your wood carving, and find out about different ways to finish the surface. By the end of the course you will have created your own wood carving inspired by natural forms.
