Join us to celebrate all things K-pop!
Our K-pop Celebration centres around a fun new dance routine inspired by current exhibition My Garden, My Sanctuary.
Created by The University of Liverpool’s K-pop Society and exhibiting artist, Yaloo – the routine explores themes within the exhibition, including ancestry and reclaiming your identity. On the day, we invite you to learn and perform the routine alongside other dance and K-pop lovers.
The event is free and people of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in.
Deciding to come along? Master your moves ahead of time by learning the routine with The University of Liverpool’s K-pop Society members, Anna and David, in this fun tutorial. You can also head over to our Instagarm page to give the dance a go using our reel.
We hope to welcome you as we dance together and celebrate the amazing world of K-Pop!
Yaloo is a visual artist from South Korea working with digital media. Through her work, she explores contemporary consumer culture and symbolism in the context of her Asian cultural heritage, and the impacts of the abundance of digital media in our everyday lives.
She experiments with the infinite possibilities of multimedia by mixing various technology-based forms such as video, media facades, projection mapping, digital textiles, and virtual reality applications: creating new worlds and experiences that invite viewers to reconsider their experience of everyday life.
This event is supported by the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK).
