Aimed at activists, community workers, academics and creatives, this event with artist Alex Pearson will explore how Future Aleppo and alternative filmmaking can be understood within the context of counter narratives – messages that offer positive alternatives to extremist propaganda, or that aim to deconstruct extremist narratives.

Alex will work with participants to build a city and populate it with stories using bare conductive paint and basic electronics to illustrate alternative collaborative storytelling, the participants can then film through their built city using lo-fi cameras, phones etc.
Liverpool World Centre’s Counter Narratives project aims to open dialogue through working with community leaders and educators; to increase community resilience and ability to safely explore difficult issues relating to extreme views through dialogue and enquiry.
