‘farmhouse’ engages with conversations surrounding nostalgia and values of family farming. It takes inspiration from a friendship lasting almost 100 years between Norwegian and Yorkshire farming families. The exhibition aims to stimulate attention toward individuals connectivity between land, produce and identity.
It consists of research material, photographs, journal entries and discussions surrounding the aforementioned topics. The project positions itself in an unfinished status but utilises the exhibition as a research tool gathering an understanding how an audience interacts with information communicated through curatorial projects. This research development was accelerated by a visit to several locations in Norway. With thanks to The Susan Cotton Travel Bursary awarded through Liverpool John Moores University.
Preview night for the ongoing project ‘farmhouse’ will take place Friday 4th October 5-9pm at Elevator Studios neighbouring Arts Bar Baltic.
