Dreaming The Earth – Marcia Crocombe

Exhibition Opening: DREAMING THE EARTH – Marcia Crocombe
The Hatch Gallery, New Brighton

The Hatch Gallery is delighted to present ‘DREAMING THE EARTH’, a captivating solo exhibition by North Wales–born artist Marcia Crocombe.

With a professional career spanning almost three decades, Marcia began as a commercial mural artist, travelling across the UK and parts of Europe to complete large-scale mural commissions. Since graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 1993, she has developed a distinctive painting practice from her home studio, creating contemporary semi-abstract works inspired by the landscapes and dramatic coastline of North Wales.

In Dreaming the Earth, Marcia explores the emotional connection between land, sea, and memory. Her paintings are rich in texture and atmosphere—earthy, expressive, and often dramatic in tone—reflecting the raw beauty of the natural environments that influence her work.

Alongside these more evocative pieces, Marcia’s playful side occasionally emerges through vibrant pop-art style paintings. These quirky, nostalgic works provide a striking and joyful contrast to the deeper, atmospheric elements of the exhibition.

This exhibition invites visitors to experience a body of work that moves between reflection and celebration of the natural world.
