Fringe Flicks is a quarterly underground short film night showcasing strange, subversive, and experimental cinema from around the world — curated by artist-led collective People Versus TV (PVTV).

This July, the new season opens with Reality+, a bold, surreal sci-fi short by Coralie Fargeat, the visionary behind The Substance. A twisted tale of identity, beauty and consumerism, Reality+ is a sharp, unsettling satire that sets the tone for a night of weird and wonderful films.

The full programme, loosely themed around “Altered Selves”, features ten shorts exploring identity, transformation and fractured perception — from Liverpool to India, China, Belgium, and the US. Expect ritual horror, neurodivergent monologues, surreal detours, poetic dreams, and one short written entirely by pigeons.

Fringe Flicks runs on a Pay What You Can model — or sign up for a PVTV membership on Patreon to get a free ticket and drink at every event.

A limited edition alternative film poster, designed by local artist Rhonda Davies, will be available on the night. The audience will also vote for their favourite short in our People’s Choice Award.
