ANDY W LANGTON

A self-taught photographer and painter known for documenting
thought provoking portraiture, diverse cultural perspectives and
striking landscapes.
In 2012, ‘Memory & Actuality’ was the first of two solo exhibitions
held in Singapore showcasing painting and photography from the
previous 5 years inspired by travel throughout Russia, China,
Europe and the Americas. In September 2012 photography from
‘Memory & Actuality’ Singapore was shown in Williamsburg, New
York.

‘Imagin Asian People & Places’, held in 2013 at ION Orchard was the
second Singapore exhibition containing an extensive range of work
from South Korea, Singapore and India celebrating the vibrant
ethnic and cultural diversity found throughout the region.
In October 2016 and in collaboration with Age International and
The Guardian newspaper, Andy’s work documenting the diving
women of Jeju Island, South Korea won first prize and formed part
of the ‘Strength For Life’ photography exhibition held at St Martin-
In-The- Fields, Trafalgar Square, London.

Beginning in September 2017 at Chattan Place Aberdeen, ‘Curated
Stories’ was a solo exhibition of photography and stories describing
the exploration of the more remote parts of Thailand, Burma, India
and South Korea including selected images from Cuba and Scottish
Highlands.

‘Curated Stories’ Chester Art Centre contains a selection of work
from the Aberdeen show and runs from the 3rd to 15th May 2018.
