Gulab Joana is a solo show of works by Joana de Oliviera Guerreiro, curated by Gabrielle de la Puente.
This exhibition introduces an artist with an MRes in Military Strategy and a recent Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. After a career with NATO and the Portuguese Navy, de Oliviera Guerreiro is now practicing as an artist in Crown Building Studios and working in restaurants in Liverpool. When we met she was stationed at Mowgli, preparing hundreds of Indian desserts every shift like gulab jamun, deep-fried dough balls in rose water syrup. The chefs there fondly called her Gulab Joana.
Opening: Friday 10 March 7-9PM
Exhibition on until Sunday 26 March.
Open 12-4 Saturdays and Sunday.
Please contact email@example.com or 07719399010 to organise a visit outside of these hours.
Crown Building Studios is on the top floor of a former magistrate’s court, and only reachable via five flights of stairs. We apologise that it is not wheelchair accessible.
