Family Heritage Weekend
Join us for our first family weekend of the year, inspired by the 300 year history of Bluecoat.
Get involved with our free family activities and discover what it was like to be a Blue Coat school pupil in 1717! Re-enact the parades of former school children by making your own banner, or help complete Bluecoat’s historic timeline by imagining what the building will be like 300 years in the future! Also join our resident dance artists LIC on Saturday who will take you back in time with a movement session based on the “drills” of 18th century pupils.
There are a series of heritage, exhibition, and family tours going on throughout the weekend, please click here to find out more.
The weekend also features heritage events for grown-ups. Discover the fascinating story of Bluecoat’s reinvention from school to arts centre, in Saving Bluecoat, Regenerating the City. This illustrated talk is presented by our artistic director Bryan Biggs and Liverpool historian John Belchem.
Free, drop in.
