Experimenting with Mixed Media
Explore and create with mixed media on canvas.
Mixed media art is a type of visual art which incorporates various types of art media. By combining textures with unusual mediums, the end result is the creative accomplishment. Many techniques, materials and compositions play off each other when creating the piece. There is adventure in not knowing where you are going with it until you get there!
This workshop will present several methods of collecting and arranging, cutting apart and reconnecting, and building materials onto canvas.
This workshop is suitable for any anybody who loves experiment with colour and pattern, or anybody who has never tried before and just wants to have a go!
Sunday 6th May 2018, 11am – 5pm, £50
After an introduction to a range of contemporary artists who work in mixed media, the tutor will lead an interactive demonstration using a variety of materials (oil pastel, chalk pastel, gouache paints, acrylic, ink, PVA glue) and how they can work well together.

Let go of the outcome and express yourself with experimentation of new techniques. Learn tips for the process of design and transferring image and create your own canvas to take home at the end ot the session.
