 E\nExplore and create with mixed media on canvas.\nMixed media art is a ty
 pe of visual art which incorporates various types of art media. By combini
 ng textures with unusual mediums\, the end result is the creative accompli
 shment. Many techniques\, materials and compositions play off each other w
 hen creating the piece. There is adventure in not knowing where you are go
 ing with it until you get there!\nThis workshop will present several metho
 ds of collecting and arranging\, cutting apart and reconnecting\, and buil
 ding materials onto canvas.\nThis workshop is suitable for any anybody who
  loves experiment with colour and pattern\, or anybody who has never tried
  before and just wants to have a go!\nSunday 6th May 2018\, 11am - 5pm\, 
 £50\nProgramme\nAfter an introduction to a range of contemporary artists 
 who work in mixed media\, the tutor will lead an interactive demonstration
  using a variety of materials (oil pastel\, chalk pastel\, gouache paints\
 , acrylic\, ink\, PVA glue) and how they can work well together.\nUsing co
 llage\, you can experiment using textures and explore the difference betwe
 en opaque/transparent medium and layering. Let go of the outcome and expre
 ss yourself with experimentation of new techniques. Learn tips for the pro
 cess of design and transferring image and create your own canvas to take h
 ome at the end ot the session.\nTutor: Eimear Kavanagh\n\nBorn in Ireland 
 in 1973\, Eimear studied BA Hons in Textiles and Surface Pattern Design at
  Bretton Hall University of Leeds\, graduating in 1999. Based in Liverpool
 \, Eimear works as a mixed media artist with a varied wealth of experience
  in the arts. Her body of work and previous commissions have taken her to 
 India\, Australia and back to Ireland. She has worked within fashion\, pub
 lic street art\, textiles\, illustration\, album cover design\; stage set 
 design\, tattoo art\, schools education &amp\; community workshops. Eimear
  is currently working on her portfolio for an exhibition and residency in 
 Iceland in 2018.\nDates:\nSunday 6th May 11am-5pm\nVenue:\nBluecoat\, Scho
 ol Lane\, Liverpool\, L1 3BX\nSituated in the centre of Liverpool\, just b
 ehind Church Street\, down Church Alley and in front of Liverpool ONE. You
  can enter the building via the front courtyard off School Lane\, or throu
 gh the garden at the back off College Lane. Nearest train station- Liverpo
 ol Central.\nCost:\n£50 per session.\nMaterials:\nYou will need to bring 
 at least one canvas to use and are encouraged to bring materials to experi
 ment with\, the rest of the basic materials will be provided at the venue.
 \nYour tutor will provide a basic supply of paper\, but participants are a
 lso invited to bring in any scraps they might already have at home. Many o
 f the techniques involve layering. If you have any bits of paper as memoir
 s or collected imagery that is personal to you\, bring them along\, or if 
 you have a favourite kind of paper e.g textured or handmade\, they can mak
 e a great surface to play with. Any variety is great! Participants are wel
 come to bring in anything that inspires them.\nNotes:\n\n\n 	There are a m
 aximum of 15 places available on each session\, so early booking is essent
