“Come to see what happens when academics and artists get together to THINK OUT LOUD. This event will use a unique seminar and workshop format.”

Thinking Out Loud is a new public seminar series born out of a unique collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University, Convenience Gallery and Dark Side Art Lab with events held at Bloom Building, Birkenhead.

‘This talk navigates ideas about knitting both in the mainstream and academia. With a focus on femininity and craft we examine the ways that so called ‘new knitting’ trends overlook everyday knitters and the importance of knitting to women’s lives. ‘

It is followed by a workshop ran by artist Claire Henderson.

Each event will consist of a free talk by some of the friendliest and most engaging academics followed by a creative workshop (free with a voluntary ‘pay what you can’ contribution), held by emerging artists from the area.

Come and join us at Bloom (Birkenhead, CH41 5FQ), just a 5 minute train journey from Central Liverpool and within close proximity of Hamilton Square station. Bloom has plenty of space to meet and drink which will enable you to ponder over thought provoking topics as you think about the world around us in new and imaginative ways.
