Popular Student Art Exhibition Returns
Second-year students studying on the BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting degree course at University Centre St Helens will be showcasing their work later this month at a special exhibition.
The popular BA2 exhibition, now it in its eighth year showcases the diverse range of work that students on the BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting degree produce by demonstrating the ability, professionalism and wealth of thematic and conceptual concerns of the exhibiting students as they reach the culmination of their second year of study.
Wayne Robinson, Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting commenting ahead of the exhibition said: “The BA2 painting exhibition continues to showcase the popularity and continued ‘life’ of the act of painting. This group of blossoming talents continues to engage with and progress the cause of painting and set a firm foundation for their third year studies. Thematically enriched by a broad range of contemporary concerns, this exhibition highlights the technical and theoretical concerns of the group. Although a small show, there is plenty for all to connect with and consider.”
The BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting degree at University Centre St Helens is one of only a few degree courses in the country of its type, allowing you to study painting as a specialist practice from day one of your study. It gives students the opportunity to develop an individual, deep understanding of established painting principles, to innovate, experiment and acquire confidence with a wide range of creative, technical, philosophical and aesthetic processes within fine art painting.
The free exhibition takes place in the Beechams Gallery, SmithKline Beecham Building from Monday 27th March until Thursday 30th March 2017 and is open daily from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
