statement:
|
I am a visual artist interested in the dialogue created by the spaces in between disciplines. Hence my work includes collage, installation, sculpture, assemblage and sometimes all of the above combined.
Much of my work is concerned with social commentary and society’s patterns, repetitions and anomalies. I am more interested in the art world as a world populated by people rather than products. Therefore, I try to make work that I identify as having intellectual and spiritual integrity. Recurring lines of enquiry include: how identity is constructed and whether or not it is dependent on geographical specificity; how super-modernity is shaping not only our experience but also our epistemology; and enjoying histories embedded in spaces and objects. Living in Liverpool, UK, since 2001, I am now based in the Bluecoat (www.thebluecoat.org.uk). |

news:

I’m very excited as I have just been selected as 1 of 10 British Isles artists to take part in the Secrets Project with curator Hani Alqam, which is culminating in an exhibition in Amman in Jordan in May 2008.
This autumn I will be producing a site-specifc painting for the reception of Liverpool-based web company Mando. I also work part-time as the Arts and Culture Network Development Officer at LCVS and I’m in the throws of organising the inaugural Liverpool Fringe Festival for Summer 2008. |
