Your guide to artist-focused Christmas markets (and Christmas shopping) in Liverpool & Merseyside, December 2025
We will absolutely miss out dates and events in this list as there are loads popping up all over the place. But with many more markets still to be confirmed, we thought it’d be nice to put together a straightforward guide to spending your money wisely this Christmas, with some of the most artist-focused and festive shopping in Merseyside.
SHOPS
DOT-ART
14 Queen Avenue, L2 4TX
Tues-Sat, 10am-6pm
If you’re after unique originals or prints, and veering away from the traditional craft gifts you’ll find at most of the markets, head to dot-art and look through their latest exhibition of work for sale, The Liverpool Collection. The annual exhibition of new work by dot-art members shows Liverpool through the eyes of local artists. You’ll get the expected (Liver Birds and footballers) perfect for visitors and admirers of the city, but you’ll also find original takes on the city’s identity in the form of lobsters and carousel horses.
THE WORLD OF GLASS
Chalon Way, WA10 1BX
Wed-Sun, 10am-4pm
The World of Glass shop in St Helens is packed, every day of the year, with original glass art, made by local artists, mostly using the World of Glass’s own studios. It showcases such amazing talent and features seasonal, one of a kind keepsakes that will be a struggle to part with. It should be routinely on everyone’s gift buying trips because not only is everything unique, its just weirdly affordable.
CURATED MAKERS AT BLUECOAT
College Lane, L1 3BX
Tue-Sun, 11am-5pm
Opposite Bluecoat Display Centre, Curated Makers, a national group focussing on bringing a rolling programme of local artists into local spaces are working with Bluecoat to fill the space next to Bluecoat’s garden with new work. Bluecoat Display Centre remains one of the finest craft galleries in the country. Its simply a not to be missed shopping destination for those extra thoughtful offerings. As well as their regular shop, filled with gifts, clothes, jewellery and original artwork, they’ve got their annual Winter Display open until 24th January, with new textile, wood turning, and ceramic work on display as much as on sale.
RED BRICK MARKET
70 Stanhope Street, L8 5RF
Mon-Sun, 10am-6pm
Red Brick Market is one of the biggest indoor craft markets in the UK, in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle since 2018. They’ve filled every nook of the warehouse with independent makers, and having been through last week, tis feeling more vibrant than ever before. If you want to spend time shopping without the hassle of crowds, Red Brick is also home to many of the makers selling at other pop-up markets throughout December, so a great place to see their work in more detail.
THE LAKE GALLERY

The LAKE Gallery’s annual open exhibition showcases the best sculptors and painters from around the region, and its all for sale. MARKETS
And there are pop-up markets right through the month, which for the most part feature local crafters and artists from around the region.
BLUECOAT CHRISTMAS MARKET
Bluecoat, L1 3BX
6.12.25, 11am-4pm
On 6th December, 11am-4pm Bluecoat’s garden and the Sandon Rooms will be buzzing with local makers and creatives taking up every single table. It promises to be one of the most exciting Christmas art markets in Merseyside, not just this year but for about as long as I can remember, with artists at all stages of their career selling work in one of the country’s most loved galleries.
LITTLE FROST FAIR
Sefton Park Palm House, L17 1AP
20.12.25 – 21.12.25, 12-7pm
Probably the largest event in the Market diary this year is the Little Frost Fair at Stefon Park Palm House, featuring a line-up of solely local crafters, bakers and makers. It’s on for the whole weekend ahead of Christmas (20th & 21st December, 12pm-7pm. Their big annual craft market, Pop-Up in the Palm House, happened early this year, so that’s been and gone, and Little Frost Fair is a little bit more of everything else, but it promises to be a brilliant last-minute gift fix.
MAKER’S MARKET
Albert Dock, L3 4AQ
7.12.25, 11am-4pm
7th December at Albert Dock is one of the city’s biggest market events, with makers building their own arts village for one day only. Always and routinely good shopping – as much for yourself as for gifting.
GRANBY STREET MARKET
Granby Street, L8 2US
6.12.25, 10am-3pm
The first Saturday of every month is Granby Street Market. 99% of you reading this will know about it, but its always amazing how many people haven’t actually been yet. This month, 6th December, the market will host artists and artisans in every craft, including some exceptional locally made foods. There’s no better time to discover this shining gem in the Granby community.
WEST KIRBY MARKET
St Andrew’s Church Hall, CH48 5DN
13.12.25, 10am-3pm
West Kirby Market, 10-3pm at St Andrew’s Church Hall focuses on craftsmanship over artistry with a selection of homewares and handmade goods, typically with ceramics and decoration as the main focus, but with something for the whole family. With the chance to engage directly with the makers, you’ll see their passion and talents sell themselves.
MAKER’S MARKET
Bombed Out Church, L1 2TR
20.12.25 – 21.12.25, 11am-4pm
The same weekend (20th-21st December, 11am-4pm), St Luke’s Bombed Out Church are hosting an absolutely focussed makers market across the grounds, with free entry to the church itself and some of the city’s best arts and makers brought together to make sure you leave with something worth leaving with. This is a great opportunity to come to this iconic spot and relish in its beauty and rich history whilst supporting its local creatives.
FESTIVE NIGHT MARKET
St Chad’s Church, CH61 3UH
5.12.25, 4-7pm
Also in the Wirral, 5th December, for anyone who prefers the cosiness of shopping with mulled wine in hand, is the Irby Festive Night Market at St Chad’s Church (4-7pm). This family friendly event promises festive cheer on a cozy Christmas evening.
MAKER’S MARKET
Croxteth Hall, L12 0HB
21.12.25, 11am-4pm
21st December, 11am-4pm at Croxteth Hall, there’s a similarly focussed makers market including an afternoon of music and performance. Set with the backdrop of the historic estate, Croxteth Hall has an array of makers within its cozy walls, well worth it for anyone feeling a bit more adventurous, or wanting to check out somewhere new.
WIRRAL YOUTH MARKET
Birkenhead Market, CH41 2YH
13.12.25, 10am-4pm
13th December sees the Wirral youth Market return to Birkenhead Market, with makers in all disciplines offering everything from stained glass to screen-printing. If you’re genuinely stuck for gift ideas, its probably one of the safest bets! Plenty of inspiration for those hard to buy for friends and family.
BASNETT STREET ARTISAN MARKET
Basnett Street, L1 1DE
6.12.25, 10am-6pm
A new one for 2025 is the outdoor artisan market on Basnett Street (next to TK Maxx in the city centre). For most people shopping the Basnett Street Artisan Market, they’re accidentally passing, which is genuinely quite exciting, because they’re kind of stealing trade from Primark, and that just makes my heart sing. It’s happened a few times already now, and been a huge success, but 6th December is your last chance to check out this new market space for the year.
