Action Transport Theatre is looking for a performer of any gender for a brand new piece of interactive game theatre, which is a culmination of a two year exploration of digital and game-based theatre, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

Nothing Ever Happens Here will tour to three community centres in Ellesmere Port at the beginning of June, engaging young people and local audiences.

The actor will be required to interact with the audience and be confident and capable in a situation where audiences may react in a surprising and/or unpredictable way. The actor will be supported by a team of young people who will provide technical support and some additional roles.

The role requires

  • Strong performing skills; an ability to carry a show as the main performer
  • Flexibility and an ability to improvise; the actor will need to facilitate the audience, in role, in an immersive and interactive setting
  • Experience of performing to and/or working with young people is extremely desirable

The ITC/Equity contract will be for two weeks at £483 a week

We will let you know if you are invited to audition by 6pm Monday 15th April.

If you are unable to make the audition but are able to send a self-tape audition please make this clear in your application. For the audition, individuals will be invited to perform a monologue/performance piece, of no more than 2 minutes, preferably suitable for a teenage audience. We will also send a short piece of text for attendees to familiarise themselves with ahead of the audition.
