Summary:

Thanks to Funding from the NLHF Creative Underground Project, we have funding to create new ways to make The World of Glass Museum accessible to a variety of audiences….

Creative Roots is part of the wider Creative Underground Project, a National Lottery Heritage Fund Project Coordinated by St Helens Archive Service. The aim of the Creative Underground Project is to shine a light on the creative heritage of the St Helens Borough, and here at The World of Glass we have held a wide range of exhibitions, and free activities as part of our branch of the Project, Creative Roots.

For the next installation of the project, we want to focus on creative ways for our audiences to engage with our museum spaces and collections. As a part of this we want to work with a Creative Freelancer, to produce resources for a range of audiences, including local families, visitors with SEND needs, and visitors with visual impairments.

To finish off our Creative Roots Project, we want to create resources, although our recent refurbishment created more interactive and hands on spaces, we want to improve on this experience further to ensure that the target audiences for this project feel like all our spaces are somewhere that they can also interact with for many years to come.

Aims of the Work:

To make TWOG more accessible and engaging for:1. SEND families2. People with visual impairments3. Families with Pre-school and primary school aged children

Evaluate the final resources created as well as the process of co-producing with community stakeholders.

Work with TWOG’s marketing officer to create marketing material for the resources to the appropriate audiences.
