Artist and Creative Workshop Facilitators, Queer Publishing, Culture Co-op Rochdale

ARTIST AND CREATIVE WORKSHOP FACILITATORS

Culture co-op is seeking artists and facilitators to run one off sessions as part of our Queer Publishing programme. The aim of the Queer Publishing programme is to provide safe spaces where people can engage with DIY grassroots creative production – anything from zine-making and podcasting to textiles and digital media.

Culture Co-op partners have identified that is a need to strengthen the LGBTQIA+ cultural offer across Rochdale Borough, particularly for the 18-40 age bracket, as many find themselves travelling to Manchester for relevant activities and events.

We are hosting a series of taster sessions with inspiring artists and creatives, to find out what long-term programmes we might support in 2024, as well as identifying any access barriers we need to overcome.

So far we have done a ‘Queer Utopias’ textiles banner making workshop with artist Dr Sarah-Joy Ford, a queerness and nature zine-making workshop with artist Julia Barker and, most recently, a DADA poetry and collage workshop with artist Beeve.

If you are interested and think this programme aligns with your values and creative outlet please get in touch. We are excited to hear from everyone, so we can have a broad range of artists working with us. We also encourage applications from artists from the global majority and those local to Rochdale.

Your workshop would need to fit the following requirements:

  •  Last 2-3h
  • Accommodate 8-25 participants
  • Include materials
  • Have room to incorporate Culture Co-ops evaluation methodologies (all will be explained)

To apply please send an introduction to yourself, a brief outline of your proposed workshop and your CV all as a PDF/word document to info@theculturecoop.org

Current fee is £250+travel+materials
