Rainbow-bright Eye for Colour exhibition returns to World Museum

Returning to Liverpool for its 10th anniversary, Eye for Colour opens at World Museum on 22 January until 4 September 2016. Guaranteed to alert the senses and stimulate the mind, the family-friendly exhibition is jam-packed with hands-on exhibits and interactive displays, exploring the endless ways in which colour shapes our world.

Director of World Museum, Steve Judd, said: “In the past decade, Eye for Colour has been seen by more than a million people across Europe and we are over the moon – or I should say over the rainbow – that it’s returning to World Museum! It’s the perfect exhibition to bring the kids to, allowing them to have fun and learn – and it’s free for the whole family.”

Do you know why the sky is blue? Have you ever wondered how fast light is? Or why we don’t see rainbows all the time? Visitors can discover the answers to these mind-boggling questions, and other fascinating facts in Eye for Colour.

The free exhibition encourages visitors to understand the science of colour, with displays to amaze and engage all the family. Take a step into the Mood Room, a space that allows you to experience and explore the effect colour can have on the way you feel, or find out the impact colour can have on how we enjoy our food.

Learn how the human eye sees and interprets colour through the Human Eye interactive, or delve into the Artist’s Palette, that illustrates how pigments are made and what they used to be made from (cow’s urine yellow for example!). Little ones can also dress up in camouflage, build a rainbow, and learn how animals see colour.
