Made up – the Liverpool look
Our city, our stories display
How did you choose what you’re wearing today?
Clothes, hairstyles and makeup are all ways of expressing yourself and your identity. How we present ourselves affects how other people see us, not only as individuals but also as groups.
In 2011 the Museum of Liverpool invited people to create an outfit, in miniature, that showcased a ‘Liverpool look’. People from all over Merseyside took part by sending their work to the museum, or attending workshops with local fashion designer Kirsty Doyle. You can see their creations in this display in The People’s Republic gallery.
Made up – the Liverpool look is part of a series of displays exploring identity and expression in the city.
