Second Year BA (Hons) Fine Art students are exhibiting their latest work in New Brighton Marine point.

Located at number thirteen, Marine Point, situated between Subway and Starbucks, the basic shell of the unit has been transformed into a professional gallery space right in the heart of the regenerated New Brighton promenade. The exhibition is being supported by the Momentary Art Project Wirral which is based at the property and Neptune who manage the entire Marine Point location. Also supporting the exhibition will be The Light Cinema who will be showing some of the artist’s video pieces on one of their screens during the private view, which takes place on Friday 13 March between 18:30 – 20:30pm.

As part of the BA (Hons) Fine Art curriculum all second year students are expected to organize, fund and install their own exhibition within a public space. This is the perfect opportunity for these future artists to experience at firsthand what it takes to exhibit their work publicly, and what this process exactly entails. This also provides the local community the chance to see the thriving talent that continues to emanate from the Wirral Met College art courses.

The exhibition itself will feature a variety of painting, mixed media and video installations and will be open to the public from 11:00am until 16:00pm Monday to Saturday and 13:30pm until 16:00pm Sunday. This will be hosted by the artists themselves so is a great chance to speak to them in person about their work. BA Hons Fine Art Student Nikki Jennion commented “The process of organizing an exhibition has been a challenging yet rewarding one. This is an excellent opportunity to share our work with the Wirral community within a prime location”
