Joyce’s War is the recently published wartime journal of Joyce Thomas (née Parry) who lived in Oxton in the last six years of her life. On the outbreak of war she signed up as a Queen Alexandra nurse working as a Sister on hospital ships, in India and the Middle East. The talk by Joyce’s daughter, Rhiannon Evans who is the editor of the book, will be illustrated with photographs and illustrations as well as with images by war artists, including the local artist, Albert Richards.
