Two days event that explores the role of Contemporary art in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. The programme includes a conference, exhbitions, workshops, performances and mixed-media installations.

Since its inception, Planet Art eXchange (PAX) has organised events that bridge divides and brought communities together and this year’s highlight events include:
A conference will bring experts from various backgrounds to discuss issues related to the safeguard of the living heritage, cultural tourism, sustainable livelihood and the role of artists and scholars. The conference will see the launch of folknest (www.folknest.com), a heritage tourism network aimed at art organisations and universities.
Mixed-media installations by 8 UK artists who took part in a residency in India
Chou performance: (from West Bengal, India) Originally Chou dance has its base from Ramayana and Mahabharata, accepting different tales from these epics, the artist wear Mask of the heroes and perform the play.
Patachitra exhibition and workshop – (from West Bengal, India) Patuas paint mythological stories and communiqués on social issues or contemporary events in series of frames on long scrolls. They compose songs on the stories they paint and sing them as they unfurl the scrolls.
