Annual Tate-Hope Lecture by acclaimed contemporary performance artist Stuart Brisley.

Entitled ‘Common People’, the lecture will explore ideas of the common through Stuart’s performance practice as well as through various complex works. Known as the ‘godfather of British performance art’ Brisley has been singularly consistent throughout a career spanning 60 years in his involvement with political and social issues and a desire to challenge the established cultural expectations has been embedded in his subject matter.

This lecture is the fourth in an innovative series of collaborations between Tate Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University. It coincides with the ‘Keywords’ exhibition in which Stuart Brisley is exhibiting.

Keywords at Tate will be showing until 11 May 2014

The Great Hall, Creative Campus, Liverpool Hope University
