After a series of commissions to Merseyside musicians with the intent of promoting collaboration across the wider spectrum of the musical community, new music ensemble Immix are set to wrap up their debut season with a performance of new works by John McGrath and Lucy Pankhurst.
Drawing on the talents of some of the region’s finest instrumentalists, Immix exists as a vehicle to champion the work of forward thinking composers, songwriters, bands and electronic artists, and to cast a spotlight on emerging talent, with an emphasis on artists whose work slips between the cracks of style and genre. To date, Immix has commissioned and premiered works by a diverse range of artists including Vessel, Ex-Easter Island Head, Joseph Hillyard, Rachel Nicholas, Tom Cowcher and Daniel Thorne.
For the final concert of their 2014 series, Immix are excited to premiere new works from BASCA award winning composer Lucy Pankhurst, and the trailblazing guitarist/sound artist John McGrath. The concert is being presented in partnership with one of Liverpool’s most exciting independent record labels, Product, who will be producing a live recording of the concert.
Immix is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and has been developed as part of a Metal Time and Space residency.
Please note: The event will be recorded live and released by PRODUCT.
