dot-art is showcasing the work of Crosby based artist Joe Thompson at the first exhibition at REX, Liverpool’s newest concept store and home to a selection of the city’s finest independent retailers, artists and designers. The pop-up gallery space will display a wide range of work by retired taxi driver Joe, who has been painting his native city and beyond for several decades.
Joe draws his artistic inspiration from classic Liverpool dockland and coastal landscapes and from icons like the Beatles and (in his opinion) the greatest football team in the world, Liverpool FC. He has painted throughout his life and credits artists including Turner, Monet, Dali and Vermeer for influencing his eclectic style.
Rex can be found in the Lower Ground Floor of Rapid (old George Henry Lee Building) on Basnett Street, in the heart of Liverpool city centre.
Please call 0845 017 6660 or see www.dot-art.com for more information or to make an appointment. All work is for sale and admission is free.
There will also be an opportunity to find some unique Christmas gifts, as REX is home to over 40 creative businesses and independent retailers. Shop local this Christmas and support your independents!
