Rojava, in North-East Syria is a complex and ever-changing place, which sees women at the forefront of fighting ISIS and for equality. But what are the histories, policies, and ideologies, which underpin this story? We will short short documentaries and hear from Kurdish women activists Sema Yildiz (activist and photographer) and Berivan Naz (activist and academic). Join us to discuss the function of modern imperialism and its consequences in the Middle East.
